Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Duoderm Hydrogel is a sterile, clear, viscous hydrogel designed for the management of partial and full-thickness wounds, such as pressure sores, leg ulcers, and diabetic ulcers. It is composed of natural hydrocolloids (pectin and sodium carboxymethylcellulose) in a clear, viscous vehicle. The gel creates a moist wound healing environment that facilitates autolytic debridement of necrotic tissue and promotes granulation. In the context of the ERAN trial conducted by Assistance Publique - Hôpitaux de Paris, it was utilized as a comparative control and vehicle for active agents like becaplermin in the treatment of Martorell's hypertensive leg ulcers.
