Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Duolac7S is a multi-strain probiotic mixture (live biotherapeutic) developed by Cell Biotech Co., Ltd. It contains seven viable bacterial strains, including *Bifidobacterium brevis*, *Bifidobacterium lactis*, *Streptococcus thermophilus*, *Lactobacillus rhamnosus*, *Lactobacillus plantarum*, and *Lactobacillus acidophilus*. The product is designed to modulate the gut microbiota and colonic microflora, primarily for the treatment of diarrhea-dominant irritable bowel syndrome (D-IBS). It aims to alleviate symptoms such as abdominal pain, bloating, and altered stool frequency. Duolac7S has been evaluated in randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trials, both as a standalone therapy and in combination with the Korean herbal medicine Gwakhyangjeonggisan (GJS). Additionally, it has been studied for its ability to aid in the recovery of intestinal flora following bowel preparation for colonoscopy.
