The STAR (Seek -> Tag -> Amend -> Release) editor is a precise multiple-turnover genome editing platform that uses ligated guide RNAs (LgRNA) and a modified Cas9 protein to edit and inactivate KRAS mutations in cancer cells. This gene editing modality is designed as a broad-spectrum therapeutic agent to treat a wide range of KRAS-driven cancers by inserting stop codons to ensure minimal truncated protein byproducts, potentially offering a one-time cure for various oncology indications.
