Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Dupilumab + berahyaluronidase alfa is an investigational subcutaneous coformulation developed by Sanofi and Regeneron. It combines dupilumab, a fully human monoclonal antibody that inhibits interleukin-4 (IL-4) and interleukin-13 (IL-13) signaling by binding to the IL-4 receptor alpha subunit (IL-4Rα), with berahyaluronidase alfa, a recombinant human hyaluronidase enzyme. Berahyaluronidase alfa acts as a permeation enhancer by temporarily degrading hyaluronan in the subcutaneous space, thereby facilitating the absorption and potentially allowing for faster or higher-volume subcutaneous administration of dupilumab. The coformulation is currently being evaluated in Phase 1 clinical trials to assess its pharmacokinetics and tolerability compared to the standard subcutaneous formulation of dupilumab.
