dupilumab + methylprednisolone

Dupilumab + methylprednisolone is a combination therapy consisting of dupilumab, a monoclonal antibody targeting interleukin-4 receptor alpha (IL-4Rα), and methylprednisolone, a synthetic glucocorticoid corticosteroid. Dupilumab inhibits signaling of both interleukin-4 (IL-4) and interleukin-13 (IL-13), key cytokines in type 2 inflammatory responses. Methylprednisolone acts as an anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive agent by binding to the glucocorticoid receptor, modulating gene expression to suppress immune response and inflammation. This combination has been studied primarily for the treatment of bullous pemphigoid, where it demonstrates superior efficacy and safety compared to corticosteroid monotherapy, with reduced steroid exposure required for disease control[1][2][3]. The combination is also being explored in other inflammatory conditions where both agents are indicated.
