Duplotrip

Duplotrip is a fixed-dose combination pharmaceutical product developed by GP Pharma for the management of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). It integrates two distinct mechanisms of action: dutasteride, a 5-alpha reductase inhibitor, and tamsulosin hydrochloride, an alpha-1 adrenergic receptor antagonist. Dutasteride suppresses the conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT), the primary androgen responsible for prostate growth, leading to a reduction in prostate volume over time. Tamsulosin targets the alpha-1a and alpha-1d adrenoceptors in the prostate and bladder neck, inducing smooth muscle relaxation to improve urinary flow and alleviate obstructive symptoms. This combination therapy is designed to provide both rapid symptomatic relief and long-term disease modification by addressing both the dynamic and static components of prostatic obstruction.
