Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Duradep is a generic pharmaceutical formulation developed and manufactured by Ultramark Healthcare. It contains dapoxetine, a short-acting selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) specifically indicated for the treatment of premature ejaculation (PE) in adult men. The drug works by inhibiting the serotonin transporter (SERT), which increases serotonin levels in the synaptic cleft and subsequently delays the ejaculatory reflex. Unlike other SSRIs used for psychiatric conditions, dapoxetine is characterized by rapid absorption and a short half-life, making it suitable for on-demand administration prior to sexual activity.
