Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Duratil is a teriparatide formulation developed by GP Pharma for the treatment of osteoporosis in patients at high risk of fracture. As a recombinant human parathyroid hormone (PTH 1-34) analog, it acts as a PTH receptor agonist. When administered intermittently via subcutaneous injection, it stimulates osteoblastic activity, promoting new bone formation and increasing bone mineral density. It is marketed as a cost-effective generic or biosimilar alternative to the reference teriparatide products, particularly in the Spanish market where it is classified as an Equivalente Farmacéutico Genérico (EFG).
