Overview

Durvalumab is a fully human immunoglobulin G1 kappa monoclonal antibody and immune checkpoint inhibitor that targets programmed death-ligand 1 (PD-L1). By blocking the interaction between PD-L1 on tumor cells and PD-1 or CD80 on T-cells, it enhances antitumor immune responses by increasing T-cell activation and delaying tumor growth. Durvalumab is primarily used in combination with platinum-containing chemotherapy for various cancers including non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), small cell lung cancer (SCLC), biliary tract cancer (BTC), hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), and endometrial cancer. It is developed by AstraZeneca and marketed under the brand name Imfinzi[4][5][7].
