DUVAC is a therapeutic cellular vaccine platform developed by Orgenesis in collaboration with Columbia University for the treatment of pancreatic cancer and other solid tumors, including hepatic and cholangiocarcinoma. The platform utilizes a patented dual-vaccine design that combines whole cancer cells as a comprehensive source of antigens with the patient's own autologous dendritic cells and macrophages. These antigen-presenting cells are used to activate a T-cell-mediated immune response against the tumor. The preparation protocol involves a specific combination of chemotherapy agents—dexamethasone, urea, vincristine, doxorubicin, and carmustine—which are likely used to process the tumor cells or modulate the immune environment to enhance antigenicity. The therapy is currently in Phase 1/2 clinical development.
