Overview

DV281 is an investigational Toll-like Receptor 9 (TLR9) agonist developed by Dynavax Technologies Corporation. It is a C-class CpG-oligodeoxynucleotide (CpG-ODN) designed for inhaled delivery to specifically target primary lung tumors and lung metastases. DV281 activates plasmacytoid dendritic cells, which in turn stimulate T cells specific for antigens released from dying tumor cells. This mechanism leads to potent Type 1 interferon induction and maturation of dendritic cells into effective antigen-presenting cells, crucial for inducing anti-tumor immunity. It is being investigated as an immunotherapy for advanced non-small cell lung cancer, often in combination with anti-PD-1 inhibitors.
