Overview

DV902-NP is an investigational HIV-1 vaccine component consisting of protein nanoparticles based on the CH505 envelope (Env) protein. Developed by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) in collaboration with the Duke Human Vaccine Institute, it is designed to induce broadly neutralizing antibodies (bNAbs) against HIV. The CH505 lineage is derived from a patient who naturally developed bNAbs, providing a template for sequential immunization strategies. The nanoparticle format is intended to enhance B-cell activation by presenting multiple copies of the Env trimer in a repetitive structure that mimics the viral surface. In clinical trials, DV902-NP is typically evaluated as a booster immunogen following priming with other CH505-based candidates, such as DV901-NP.
