Overview

DW-MSCs are allogeneic **mesenchymal stem cells** (MSCs) manufactured from human embryonic stem cells (line SNUhES35) according to Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards. These cells are expanded, characterized (CD29, CD44, CD73, CD105 positive; negative for hematopoietic and pluripotency markers), and tested for sterility and quality prior to use. DW-MSCs can differentiate into chondroblasts, osteoblasts, and adipocytes. Their main mechanism is **immunomodulation** via paracrine signaling and interaction with host immune cells, with a potential for regenerative effects. The primary clinical indication studied to date is the treatment of COVID-19, specifically in patients with low clinical risk. DW-MSCs are delivered as a single intravenous infusion and are being evaluated for safety and early signs of efficacy in clinical trials[1][2][7]. The product is manufactured by the National Institute of Health, National Center for Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine in Korea[1].
