Drug intelligence / Profile preview
DW1031 is a targeted protein degrader (TPD) being developed by Dong-Wha Pharmaceutical for the treatment of fibrotic diseases. The drug utilizes a proteolysis-targeting chimera (PROTAC) or similar degradation mechanism to selectively eliminate a novel, undisclosed protein target that is implicated in the pathogenesis of fibrosis. By leveraging the cellular ubiquitin-proteasome system to degrade the disease-causing protein rather than simply inhibiting it, DW1031 aims to provide a more potent and durable therapeutic effect. As of current pipeline reports, the program has progressed through hit identification and is in the preclinical development stage.
