Overview

DWP216262 is a preclinical small molecule inhibitor developed by Daewoong Pharmaceutical, specifically targeting the TEAD1 and TEAD2 transcription factors. These factors are key components of the Hippo signaling pathway, which plays a critical role in regulating cell growth and organ size. Mutations in the NF2 gene lead to the loss of Merlin protein, resulting in the constitutive activation of YAP/TAZ co-activators that bind to TEAD proteins to drive oncogenic gene expression. DWP216262 is designed to treat NF2-mutant tumors, such as schwannomas and meningiomas, by blocking this transcriptional activity and inhibiting tumor progression.
