Overview

DX-109 is a preclinical-stage vaccine candidate being developed by Delonix Bioworks for the prevention of Bordetella pertussis infection, commonly known as whooping cough. The vaccine is produced using the company's proprietary OMV Plus platform, which utilizes synthetic biology to create genetically engineered outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). These vesicles are designed to present a diverse array of bacterial antigens to the host immune system, mimicking the structure of the pathogen to elicit a robust and protective immune response. As a biologic vaccine, DX-109 aims to provide a next-generation alternative to traditional pertussis vaccines by leveraging the natural immunogenicity of bacterial vesicles while maintaining a high safety profile through genetic detoxification and engineering.
