Overview

DX-814 is a small molecule peptide drug developed by DermaXon for the treatment of autoinflammatory and immune system diseases. It acts as a peptide inhibitor targeting B-cell activating factor (BAFF), a member of the TNF family that plays an important role in B cell proliferation and differentiation. By binding to BAFF, DX-814 competes with natural ligands such as TACI and BCMA, potentially modulating immune responses relevant to autoimmune or autoinflammatory conditions. Preclinical studies using molecular modeling suggest that hydrophobic and electrostatic interactions are key to its binding affinity for BAFF[1].
