Drug intelligence / Profile preview
DX506 is a preclinical-stage small molecule therapeutic being developed by DermaXon for the treatment of interferonopathies and coronavirus infections (including COVID-19). Interferonopathies are a group of rare genetic disorders, such as Aicardi-Goutières Syndrome, characterized by chronic overproduction of type I interferons. DX506 is designed to target innate immune pathways responsible for this dysregulation. In the context of coronavirus, the drug is intended to mitigate the hyper-inflammatory response or "cytokine storm" that can lead to severe disease. As of 2021, DX506 was listed in DermaXon's pipeline as a preclinical asset.
