Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Dydrogesterone is an orally active synthetic retroprogesterone progestogen. It is a selective agonist of the nuclear progesterone receptor and produces progesterone-like effects on the endometrium, including secretory transformation of estrogen-primed endometrium and protection against estrogen-driven endometrial hyperplasia. It is marketed principally as **Duphaston** in multiple non-US markets for progesterone-deficiency-related gynecologic and reproductive indications; country-specific labels vary. Oral dydrogesterone has also been evaluated in Phase 3 IVF luteal-support studies and in observational studies of endometriosis-related pain.
