Drug intelligence / Profile preview
DYTOP-ES is a branded generic combination drug product manufactured by Ind Blues Pharma, an Indian pharmaceutical company. It contains two active hormonal ingredients: dydrogesterone (a synthetic progestogen) and estradiol (a naturally occurring estrogen). The medication is primarily indicated for hormone replacement therapy (HRT) in postmenopausal women to alleviate symptoms of estrogen deficiency, such as hot flashes, night sweats, and vaginal dryness. Additionally, it is used for the prevention of postmenopausal osteoporosis. Dydrogesterone acts as a selective agonist of the progesterone receptor, providing essential endometrial protection by counteracting the proliferative effects of estradiol on the uterine lining, thereby reducing the risk of endometrial hyperplasia. Estradiol acts as an agonist at estrogen receptors, replacing the endogenous estrogen that declines during menopause.
