Overview

Dynasore is a cell-permeable, reversible small molecule inhibitor that noncompetitively inhibits the GTPase activity of dynamin 1 and dynamin 2 as well as Drp1 (mitochondrial dynamin-related protein 1), with an IC50 of approximately 15 μM. It blocks clathrin-mediated endocytosis by preventing the scission of vesicles from membranes, making it a widely used research tool in cell biology to study endocytosis and vesicular trafficking. Dynasore is selective for dynamins over other small GTPases such as MxA and Cdc42. It has been used in studies related to neuroscience (synaptic transmission), cancer research (tumor cell behavior and metastasis), drug delivery systems, and bioprocess optimization[2][3][4][5][6][7].
