Dynavax Lyme disease vaccine

Dynavax's Lyme disease vaccine is an investigational multivalent protein subunit vaccine candidate designed for the prevention of Lyme disease, the most common vector-borne illness in the Northern Hemisphere. The vaccine targets antigens from *Borrelia burgdorferi*, the primary bacterial pathogen responsible for the disease. It is formulated with Dynavax's proprietary CpG 1018 adjuvant, a Toll-like receptor 9 (TLR9) agonist that has been shown to amplify immune responses and enhance the durability of protection. This adjuvant technology is the same as that used in the FDA-approved hepatitis B vaccine, HEPLISAV-B. As of 2025, the vaccine candidate has progressed into Investigational New Drug (IND)-enabling studies, with clinical development planned to commence in 2027.
