Dynorphin A 1-13 is a 13-amino acid endogenous peptide derived from the proteolytic cleavage of dynorphin A (1-17). It functions as a potent and selective agonist of the **kappa-type opioid receptor (KOR)**. In preclinical research, dynorphin A 1-13 has demonstrated significant physiological effects, including neuroprotection in models of cerebral ischemia (stroke) and pulmonary arterial relaxation in models of hypoxic pulmonary hypertension. It also appears to modulate immune function by enhancing lymphocyte proliferation and interleukin-2 production.
