Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Dyrupeg (BP14) is a pegfilgrastim biosimilar developed by CuraTeQ Biologics, a subsidiary of Aurobindo Pharma. It is a pegylated recombinant human granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF) that stimulates the production of neutrophils by binding to and activating the G-CSF receptor. The pegylation of the filgrastim molecule extends its half-life and systemic exposure, allowing for less frequent dosing compared to non-pegylated filgrastim. Dyrupeg is indicated for reducing the duration of neutropenia and the incidence of febrile neutropenia in adult patients treated with cytotoxic chemotherapy for malignancy (with the exception of chronic myeloid leukemia and myelodysplastic syndromes). It has received regulatory approvals from the European Commission, Health Canada, and the UK MHRA.
