Dysma

Dysma is an antispasmodic pharmaceutical product developed and marketed by Rangs Pharmaceuticals. Its active ingredient is tiemonium methylsulphate, a quaternary ammonium antimuscarinic agent. It functions as a competitive antagonist at muscarinic receptors and also possesses a non-specific antispasmodic effect by strengthening calcium bonding with phospholipids and proteins, thereby stabilizing cell membranes. Dysma is indicated for the symptomatic relief of visceral spasms and pain associated with functional disorders of the gastrointestinal, biliary, urinary, and gynecological systems, including conditions such as biliary colic, enterocolitis, and spasmodic dysmenorrhea. It is currently approved and marketed in Bangladesh as 50 mg film-coated tablets.
