DYX116 is a long-acting glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist developed by Jiangsu Deyuan Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. It is currently in clinical development for the treatment of metabolic disorders, including type 2 diabetes mellitus and obesity. As a GLP-1 receptor agonist, DYX116 mimics the physiological actions of the incretin hormone GLP-1, which is secreted by the intestines in response to food intake. The drug works by binding to and activating the GLP-1 receptor on pancreatic beta cells, thereby stimulating glucose-dependent insulin secretion and inhibiting glucagon release. Additionally, it slows gastric emptying and promotes satiety through central nervous system pathways, contributing to both glycemic control and weight reduction.
