Overview

DYX116 is a long-acting glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist developed by Jiangsu Deyuan Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. It is currently in clinical development for the treatment of metabolic disorders, including type 2 diabetes mellitus and obesity. As a GLP-1 receptor agonist, DYX116 mimics the physiological actions of the incretin hormone GLP-1, which is secreted by the intestines in response to food intake. The drug works by binding to and activating the GLP-1 receptor on pancreatic beta cells, thereby stimulating glucose-dependent insulin secretion and inhibiting glucagon release. Additionally, it slows gastric emptying and promotes satiety through central nervous system pathways, contributing to both glycemic control and weight reduction. DYX116 is designed as a long-acting injectable formulation to allow for less frequent dosing, potentially improving patient adherence compared to short-acting alternatives.
