Overview

e-FabRIC is a broad-spectrum polyclonal antibody therapeutic developed by Fabentech for the treatment and prevention of infections caused by the Sarbecovirus family, which includes SARS-CoV-1, SARS-CoV-2, and potential future variants. The drug is produced using Fabentech's proprietary FabShield® platform, which generates highly purified equine-derived F(ab')2 fragments. Unlike monoclonal antibodies that typically target a single epitope, e-FabRIC's polyclonal nature allows it to bind to multiple conserved epitopes on the viral spike protein. This broad-spectrum binding provides neutralization across various members of the Sarbecovirus family and offers a higher barrier to viral resistance compared to monoclonal treatments. As of early 2024, the candidate is in the proof-of-concept stage of development.
