Drug intelligence / Profile preview
e-FabRIC - SARBECOVIRUS (also known as EID treatment #3) is a broad-spectrum passive immunotherapy being developed by Fabentech in collaboration with the e-FabRIC consortium (including the University of Cambridge). The therapeutic candidate consists of equine polyclonal F(ab')2 antibody fragments generated using an innovative hyperimmunization strategy. This strategy utilizes a mosaic-8b nanocage antigen presenting receptor-binding domains (RBDs) from eight different sarbecoviruses. The resulting polyclonal antibodies are designed to neutralize a wide range of viruses within the Sarbecovirus family (including SARS-CoV-2 and its variants) and prevent severe respiratory diseases. The program is currently in the proof-of-concept stage of development.
