Overview

E-selectin is an adhesion molecule expressed on activated endothelium in response to proinflammatory cytokines. It is being investigated as an experimental drug, particularly in a recombinant human form, for its potential to prevent clot formation by modulating white blood cells (lymphocytes). It has been studied for the secondary prevention of stroke and transient ischemic attack.
