**e-viniferin** is a naturally occurring dimer of resveratrol, classified as a stilbenoid polyphenol and found primarily in Vitis vinifera (grapevine) and grape-derived products. It exhibits a range of biological activities, including potent antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, cardioprotective, neuroprotective, anticancer, anti-angiogenic, anti-obesity, antimicrobial, and antifungal properties[3][5][7]. e-viniferin strongly inhibits multiple cytochrome P450 enzymes (notably CYP1A1, CYP1A2, CYP1B1, CYP2A6, CYP2B6, CYP3A4, CYP4A, CYP2E1) with Ki values in the sub- to low-micromolar range[1][2]. It also inhibits angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE)[5], and has been shown to enhance endogenous antioxidant enzyme activity and modulate key metabolic and inflammatory signaling pathways including SIRT3/AMPK/FOXO3, and arginase/NO production[3]. e-viniferin is extensively metabolized, mainly by glucuronidation, and has low oral bioavailability[5]. It is being considered for use as a nutraceutical and as an ingredient in functional foods, but is not developed as a pharmaceutical drug.
