Overview

E19 is a 39-amino acid analogue of Exendin-4, designed as a potent glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonist. It was developed to address the poor solubility and aggregation propensity of Exendin-4, which can lead to unwanted side effects. E19 maintains the tertiary structure of Exendin-4 but exhibits improved helicity, reduced tendency for oligomerization, and preserved biological activity. This makes E19 a promising lead compound for further drug discovery, particularly for the treatment of type 2 diabetes.
