E2F1 siRNA is a research-grade small interfering RNA (siRNA) reagent used to silence the expression of the E2F1 (E2F Transcription Factor 1) gene via RNA interference (RNAi). E2F1 is a key regulator of the cell cycle, involved in proliferation, differentiation, apoptosis, and chemoresistance. In research settings, E2F1 siRNA is utilized to study the role of E2F1 in various conditions, including small cell lung cancer (SCLC), colorectal cancer, ovarian carcinoma, and inflammatory bowel disease. It is often used in combination with other treatments, such as cisplatin, to investigate mechanisms of sensitization to chemotherapy. Currently, E2F1 siRNA is available as a laboratory tool from suppliers like Thermo Fisher Scientific and Abbexa, and it is not being developed as a proprietary clinical drug.
