Overview

E2F3 siRNA is a small interfering RNA designed to silence the expression of the E2F transcription factor 3 (E2F3) gene. It functions through the RNA interference (RNAi) pathway, where it mediates the sequence-specific degradation of E2F3 mRNA, leading to a reduction in E2F3 protein levels. In the context of oncology research, particularly in clear cell renal cell carcinoma (CCC), E2F3 siRNA is used to investigate the role of E2F3 in cell cycle regulation, centrosome amplification, and aneuploidy. Research indicates that downregulation of E2F3, often as a downstream effect of miR-210 upregulation, contributes to chromosomal instability in cancer cells.
