Drug intelligence / Profile preview
E39 peptide + GM-CSF vaccine + J65 booster is a cancer immunotherapy approach that combines the E39 peptide (derived from folate binding protein) with GM-CSF as an immune adjuvant, and uses J65 (an attenuated version of E39) as a booster dose. The vaccine targets folate binding protein (FBP), which is overexpressed in many gynecologic and breast cancers. E39 is an HLA-A2-restricted FBP-derived peptide, while J65 (E39') is an attenuated version designed to provide sustained immunity while avoiding activation-induced cell death that can occur with repeated exposure to the same peptide. Clinical trials have shown this approach is well-tolerated and produces strong, dose-dependent immune responses, with promising disease-free survival results particularly at the 1000 μg dose.
