Drug intelligence / Profile preview
E45 Cream is a topical emollient cream formulated for the symptomatic relief of various dry skin conditions. Its active ingredients include anhydrous lanolin, white soft paraffin, and light liquid paraffin. The cream works by forming a protective, occlusive barrier on the skin surface, which helps to prevent transepidermal water loss, thereby moisturizing and softening the skin. It is indicated for conditions such as eczema, dermatitis, ichthyosis, psoriasis (dry cases), flaking, chapped skin, sunburn, rough skin, calloused skin, and detergent hands. Originally developed by a Boots chemist in 1952, E45 Cream is now marketed by Karo Pharma AB.
