Overview

E48 is a monoclonal antibody developed for the treatment of head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC). It targets the E48 antigen, a GPI-anchored molecule involved in keratinocyte cell-cell adhesion, which is highly expressed in squamous tumor cells. E48 has been studied in its murine, chimeric (mouse/human IgG1), and F(ab')2 fragment forms, primarily for radioimmunotherapy applications. The chimeric form has shown potential in mediating antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC) against HNSCC targets.
