Overview

E48 IgG is a **chimeric monoclonal antibody** developed to selectively target squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck (HNSCC). By recombinant DNA technology, the variable regions of mouse antibody E48 are fused with human constant regions, resulting in a chimeric IgG molecule. The antibody shows specific binding to antigens expressed on HNSCC cells, enabling its use for radioimmunoscintigraphy and as a potential agent for antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC) and targeted radioimmunotherapy. In clinical and preclinical studies, E48 IgG demonstrates high tumor uptake and specificity, and can trigger ADCC, leading to the lysis of cancer cells. Its pharmacokinetics indicate selective targeting and retention in tumor tissue, and its efficacy is being explored for treatment and imaging of head and neck cancer[1][5].
