E6020 is a **synthetic Lipid A mimetic** and a **selective Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) agonist** developed as a vaccine adjuvant and immunomodulatory agent. It mimics the structure and activity of the natural TLR4 agonist lipid A, but with more controlled, attenuated potency and an improved safety profile compared to lipopolysaccharide (LPS). E6020 promotes activation of TLR4, leading to the induction of cytokine production, upregulation of NF-κB signaling, enhanced macrophage activation, and increased phagocytosis.
