Overview

E6130 is an orally available, highly selective small molecule modulator of the CX3C chemokine receptor 1 (CX3CR1). It acts as a CX3CR1 agonist, inhibiting fractalkine-induced chemotaxis of human peripheral blood natural killer cells and down-regulating CX3CR1 on the cell surface. Preclinical studies have shown that E6130 reduces mucosal inflammation and decreases trafficking of CX3CR1+ leukocytes in mouse models of colitis, suggesting potential as a therapeutic agent for inflammatory bowel disease. The drug has demonstrated efficacy in animal models by ameliorating several parameters associated with inflammatory bowel disease[1][2][3][4][5]. Developed by EA Pharma.
