E7-transfected dendritic cells are a form of personalized cell-based immunotherapy in which **dendritic cells** (DCs)—potent antigen-presenting cells—are genetically modified to express or present the E7 gene product of human papillomavirus (HPV), typically type 16. The goal is to induce a robust E7-specific immune response capable of targeting HPV-associated tumors. The mechanism involves the presentation of the HPV E7 antigen by transfected dendritic cells to both cytotoxic CD8+ T cells and CD4+ helper T cells, thereby priming an adaptive cellular immune response against E7-expressing tumor cells. Preclinical research demonstrates that intramuscular administration of such DCs produces strong anti-tumor immunity, with elevated levels of E7-specific antibodies and T cell precursors. This strategy is primarily studied for immunotherapy against cervical cancer and other HPV-associated neoplasms[1][3][2].
