EA-Ins-IQ-100

EA-Ins-IQ-100 is a nanotechnology-based oral insulin formulation developed by Endo Axiom Pty Ltd, a spinout from the University of Sydney. The drug utilizes a novel quantum-dot nanocarrier system where insulin is attached to a nanoparticle and coated in a protective layer to facilitate absorption through the intestinal wall into the bloodstream. It is designed as a 'smart' or glucose-responsive insulin, meaning it becomes active in response to high blood glucose levels but remains inactive when blood glucose is low, thereby significantly reducing the risk of hypoglycemia. EA-Ins-IQ-100 is primarily being developed for the treatment of type 1 diabetes mellitus and other insulin-dependent forms of diabetes.
