EA1080

EA1080 (also known as NSHO-101) is a novel, orally available small molecule antagonist of the α4β7 integrin. It is being developed for the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). The drug works by selectively inhibiting α4β7 integrin-mediated cell adhesion to MAdCAM-1, thereby suppressing the invasion of lymphocytes into the gut mucosa and reducing inflammation. Unlike some other integrin antagonists, EA1080 does not engage α4β1, which may reduce off-target effects. The compound was originally discovered and developed by EA Pharma using their proprietary drug discovery platform and has been licensed to Ensho Therapeutics for development and commercialization outside certain Asian territories.
