EAGD T-cell infusion is an experimental cellular immunotherapy consisting of donor-derived, ex vivo expanded and activated gamma-delta (γδ) T cells. Developed by the University of Kansas Medical Center, it is intended for the treatment of hematological malignancies, including acute myeloid leukemia (AML), chronic myeloid leukemia (CML), acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), and myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS). The therapy is administered following haploidentical hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) and post-transplant cyclophosphamide. These γδ T cells recognize malignant cells through innate immune ligands such as DNAM-1 and NKG2DL, aiming to reduce relapse rates post-transplant without inducing graft-versus-host disease (GVHD).
