Overview

EAL (Effective Activated Lymphocyte) is an autologous cellular immunotherapy developed by Beijing Yongtai Biologics (also known as Beijing Weixiao Biotechnology Development). The therapy consists of activated T lymphocytes, primarily CD8+ T cells, which are expanded ex vivo from a patient's peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) and subsequently re-infused. EAL is designed to recognize multiple tumor-associated antigens and mediate broad antitumor activity to prevent the recurrence of solid tumors, particularly hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) following surgical resection. It is currently in late-stage clinical development in China and represents a multi-target approach to immunotherapy intended to overcome tumor heterogeneity.
