Overview
easy-graft CLASSIC is a synthetic, resorbable bone graft substitute primarily used in dental and maxillofacial surgery for applications such as ridge preservation, sinus floor elevation, and the filling of bone defects. Developed by Degradable Solutions AG (a Sunstar company), the product is composed of pure-phase beta-tricalcium phosphate (β-TCP) granules coated with a thin layer of polylactic acid (PLA). Before application, the granules are mixed with a liquid activator (BioLink) that softens the PLA coating, creating a moldable, adhesive paste. Once placed into a bone defect and in contact with blood, the material hardens to form a stable, porous scaffold. This scaffold facilitates osteoconduction, allowing for the ingrowth of new bone while the material is gradually resorbed by the body over a period of months.
