Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Easycol Baby (also marketed as Easycol Baby+) is an over-the-counter lactase enzyme food supplement developed by AEI (A.E.I. 24) to address infant colic caused by transient lactase deficiency. During the first few months of life, some infants produce insufficient lactase naturally, leading to poor digestion of lactose in breast milk or formula, which can cause gas, bloating, and prolonged crying. Easycol Baby works by hydrolyzing lactose into the simple sugars glucose and galactose, thereby facilitating digestion and reducing colic episodes. It is administered as oral drops directly to the infant or mixed with breast milk or formula.
