Drug intelligence / Profile preview
EB-CAR30-NK is an allogeneic chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) natural killer (NK) cell therapy targeting CD30 (Tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily member 8). Developed by Beijing Biotech, it is currently being evaluated in a Phase 1/2 clinical trial for patients with relapsed or refractory B2 thymoma or thymic carcinoma. The therapy involves engineering allogeneic NK cells to express a CAR specific for the CD30 antigen, which is expressed on certain thymic tumors. As an allogeneic 'off-the-shelf' product, EB-CAR30-NK aims to provide a more accessible and potentially safer alternative to autologous CAR-T cell therapies by utilizing NK cells, which have a lower risk of inducing graft-versus-host disease (GvHD) and cytokine release syndrome (CRS).
