EB-PO1 is an exosome-based therapeutic candidate developed by Exollence Biotechnology for the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). It consists of anti-inflammatory small interfering RNA (siRNA) targeting the NLRP3 inflammasome, encapsulated within cow milk-derived exosomes. This delivery platform is designed for oral administration, leveraging the natural stability and uptake mechanisms of milk exosomes to deliver the siRNA payload to the intestinal mucosa. By silencing NLRP3, EB-PO1 aims to reduce the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines like IL-1β and IL-18, thereby mitigating the chronic inflammation associated with IBD.
