EB-SELECT Dual-Target CAR-NK Cells is an investigational allogeneic, donor-derived chimeric antigen receptor natural killer (CAR-NK) cell therapy developed by Essen Biotech for the treatment of advanced solid tumors. The therapy involves genetically engineering NK cells from healthy donors to express two distinct CAR constructs, allowing for the simultaneous targeting of two tumor antigens. This dual-target approach is intended to mitigate the effects of tumor antigen heterogeneity and reduce the risk of antigen escape, potentially enhancing therapeutic efficacy compared to single-target CAR therapies. The specific antigens targeted are selected for each patient based on biomarker profiling of the tumor using tissue or liquid biopsies. It is currently being evaluated in a Phase 1/2 clinical trial (NCT07410494) for a variety of relapsed or refractory solid tumors, including breast cancer, non-small cell lung cancer, and glioblastoma.
