Overview

EB1002 is a biosimilar monoclonal antibody candidate being developed by Eden Biologics (formerly JHL Biotech) for the prevention of bone complications, such as skeletal-related events in patients with bone metastases from solid tumors. It is a biosimilar of denosumab, specifically targeting the indication profile associated with the brand name Xgeva. EB1002 functions by binding to and inhibiting the Receptor Activator of Nuclear Factor Kappa-B Ligand (RANKL), a cytokine essential for the formation, function, and survival of osteoclasts. By preventing RANKL from interacting with its receptor RANK on the surface of osteoclast precursors and mature osteoclasts, EB1002 reduces osteoclast-mediated bone resorption. This mechanism helps maintain bone integrity and reduces the risk of fractures and other bone-related complications in oncology patients. As of the latest company pipeline updates, EB1002 is in preclinical development.
